The Heat

Be cautious of the heat this week. There is already a heat advisory for tomorrow. Try getting up early and running or do some running indoors. DO NOT run during the hottest part of the day. Remember that we will be running Sept. 4 in the morning, regardless of the heat. So it's a good idea to train in the heat, but don't over do it.

Someone posted earlier about warning signs for heat stroke. Will you post them again????

Here is todays random picture.

Yeah~ I am commenting on my own post, sue me. I went to Pro Fitness today to run since it was too hot outside. After I did about 2 1/2 miles I started to get the chills. SO I stopped and walked for a while, then stopped completely. How do you avoid this? Should I have drank more water?

you need more hydration!!! and be sure to eat a high carb snack about 1 hour before or a meal high in carbs 2hrs. before. that's just my suggestion. the other day i was to run 4 and only ran about 3.6 then had to walk due to the heat and feeling dizzy. but I fast walked and then ran the last .5 miles. even though i walked i still made myself go the whole distance i intended.
